Synopsis from publisher for soft cover edition:
A powerful story about loss of freedom and individuality, V FOR VENDETTA takes place in a totalitarian England following a devastating war that changed the face of the planet. In a world without political freedom, personal freedom and precious little faith in anything comes a mysterious man in a white porcelain mask who fights political oppressors through terrorism and seemingly absurd acts. It’s a gripping tale of the blurred lines between ideological good and evil.

Synopsis from publisher for hard cover edition:
One of the accomplishments that cemented Alan Moore’s reputation — now a major motion picture — returns in a stunning new edition. A terrifying portrait of totalitarianism and resistance superbly illustrated by artist David Lloyd, this edition includes everything from the VERTIGO trade paperback as well as a new 8-page section featuring early sketches and art by Lloyd.

Notes:

This publication reprints the V For Vendetta stories only from the Warrior anthology comic book series originally published by Quality Communications. The Warrior anthology was prematurely canceled. In 1988, DC Comics printed colored versions of the Warrior stories, and also concluded the story in the V For Vendetta comic book series. The colorized versions are contained in this publication. All material in this publication was written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd with colors by Lloyd, Steve Whitacker and Siobhan Dodd. Additional art for three chapters was supplied by Tony Weare.
