Comics visionary Grant Morrison re-imagines Kid Eternity in this 144-page trade paperback collecting the 3-issue Prestige Format miniseries from 1991. Aspiring stand-up comedian Jerry Sullivan joins Kid Eternity on a quest to free his Keeper from Hell, only to find himself swept up in a much larger struggle between the Lords of Order and Chaos.
This publication reprints the Kid Eternity comic book mini-series. All material in this publication was written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Duncan Fegredo.
The first Kid Eternity comic book series was published by Quality Comics in 1946. It ran for 18 issues, ending in 1949. Other contributors include Sam Citron, Mac Raboy, Frank Grinaldo, Clark Williams, Frank Bolle, Max Elkan, John Rosenberger, Alex Kotzky, Reed Crandall and others. Bill Woolfolk wrote one of the stories in issue #9 and #15, but nearly all of the other names of writers have been lost. These issues have yet to be collected or reprinted.
Kid Eternity was among the properties purchased from Quality Comics by DC Comics in 1956. The character was eventually redesigned and re-interpreted for this mini-series by Grant Morrison and Duncan Fegredo in 1991. Another Kid Eternity comic book series began in 1993 based on this take of the character. The series ran for 16 issues, ending in 1994. The series was written by Ann Nocenti and illustrated by Sean Phillips. Sean Harrison Scoffield illustrated issue #7. Paul Peart contributed to issues #14 and #15. These issues have yet to be collected or reprinted.
